Obituary
Charles D. Zunski, 93, of Hazle Twp., passed away Friday at St. Luke Manor, Hazleton. Born in West Hazleton, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Leshko) Zunski and was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish at Our Lady of Grace Church, Hazleton.
He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was also a member of Hazleton Owls Clubs and the Hazleton American Legion.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wife the former Elizabeth “Betty” Pollick in 2015; son-in-law John Brislin; sisters Marie Latosky, Anna Zunski, Martha Yanoski, Irene Cerullo, and Ethel Lestishock; and brothers Edward Zunski who went missing in action during World War II, and John Zunski.
Surviving are his daughters Marion Brislin, Hazleton, Nancy Pawlowski and husband Jack, Mt. Arlington, NJ, and Caroline Zunski, Hazle Twp.; brother Robert Zunski and companion Debbie Santangelo, Hazle Twp; grandchildren Alicia and Jennifer Pawlowski; great granddaughter Brianne Pawlowski; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 25th, at 10 A.M. in Our Lady of Peace Parish at Our Lady of Grace Church, Hazleton. Burial will be in St. Mary of the Assumption Cemetery, McAdoo. The family will receive friends on Wednesday morning in the church from 9-10 A.M.
