Diana (Diane) Lynn Tranguch, 70, of Hazleton, passed away on Thursday, October 30th.

Diane is survived by her daughter: Trisha Tranguch of Drums; and her granddaughter Demitria (Andrew) Saba of Kingston. She is also survived by her two brothers: Thomas Santopoli of Exton; and Vincent Santopoli of Hazleton.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Gertrude Santopoli.

Diane was a lifelong Hazleton resident and spent most of her time working in retail. Throughout the years, she was employed at the Catholic Guild, Hallmark store, and Pantry Quik locations in the city. For almost two decades, she was a loyal employee of Weis Market where she met many wonderful customers and coworkers that became friends. She enjoyed being social and her particular brand of unfiltered sass always made an impression.

Above all, Diane was a loving Grammy to Demitria, with whom she shared a special bond and a birthday. Her support and care has left an impact that won’t be forgotten.

Her funeral service will be held November 6th at 1:00 pm in the Calvary Cemetery Chapel, Drums. Interment will be held privately with family following the service. The Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St., Hazleton is in charge of the arrangements.  Condolences can be sent through www.moranfuneralhome.com.

Donations in memory of Diane can be made to the Lymphoma Research Foundation which funds scientific research, particularly for rare types of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma which receive less attention.

I had the privilege of working with Diane at Weis. She was tough, dependable, and always had your back. She was always ready to lend a hand, no matter what. We shared a lot of laughs over the years — she made the job better just by being there. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Sending my heartfelt condolences to the Tranguch Family. I first met Diane when she worked at Pantry Quik and later I worked with her for many years at Weis Markets. She will be sadly missed.

I had the honor of working with Diane at Weis Markets as her manager for many years. During that time, we faced countless challenges together, and she was always a steady, spirited presence by my side. Diane was truly one of a kind — a fireball of sass and wit, never afraid to speak her mind and always unapologetically herself. After leaving Weis for a new job, I remember hearing that she would try to page me over the loudspeaker, months after I was gone. That was Diane: loud in the best way, unforgettable, and full of heart. My husband was her manager when she passed and shared the news with me. I’m so grateful she got to meet our son and see us as a family this past summer. The world feels a little quieter without her vivacious laugh and bright, fiery spirit, but I take comfort in knowing she’s at peace now and watching over those of us who were lucky enough to know her. She will be missed so dearly.

I started as a beginner cashier under Diane and worked with her for almost 6 years throughout college. She was one of the people who inspired me to work my hardest and love what I do. I was incredibly upset to hear about her passing and will continue trying my best to make her proud working in law enforcement.
