      Lillian L. Smith, 72, of Hazleton, passed away Wednesday at Geisinger St. Lukes, Orwigsburg.  Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late George and Vira (Yanconish) Mondock and was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, Hazleton.

      She was a 1970 graduate of Hazleton High School. Lillian in 2011, distinguished graduated from McCann’s School of Business as a Medical Office Assistant.

      Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband Carl Smith in 2008; grandchildren Carl Smith Jr., and Matthew Smith; and sister Vira Oberman.

      Surviving are her son Carl Smith and wife Keri, Hazleton; daughters Kimberly Lopez and husband Welbin, Drums, and Christine Schultz and husband Johnathan, Hazleton; grandchildren Joshua Smith, Nicole Miller, and Michael Smith, Bianca Faraj, Walter Mejia Jr., and Emmanuel and Melissa Iwuji; great grandchildren Claudia, Aiden, Gabriella, Genevieve, Jeremy, Josenyl, Renesme, and Kijani; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

      Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 11th at 10 A.M. in Our Lady of Peace Parish at Our Lady of Grace Church, Hazleton. Burial will be in Mount Laurel Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends on Monday, November 10th, at the Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St., Hazleton from 7-9 P.M.
