Obituary
Denis A. Mulligan Sr., 66, of Hazleton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 8th, 2026. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Gibson) Mulligan.
Surviving are his children: Ellen, Colleen, and Denis Jr. His brothers and sister: Sean Mulligan; Daniel Mulligan (Nicole Bodine) and Sharonrose Wieckowski (Jay). His grandchildren:. Joshua Jr., Gaige, Liliana, Kirstin, Danielle, and Juliet. He is also survived by two nieces and a nephew: Hannah (Kyle McCloskey) Timothy (Abina) & Sara.
Graduating Archbishop Ryan High School in ‘78, he went on to graduate from Temple University with a registered pharmacist degree. Denis’ pharmacy career spanned three decades with his work primarily focusing on the eastern part of Pennsylvania. He took a small break in his mid- fifties to pursue a career with over the road hauling/trucking. He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, working on cars and spending time with his family. It goes without saying, Denis’ unquestioning kindness and generosity was his greatest gift.
A celebration of life mass will be held on Saturday, February 21st at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Hazleton.
