Obituary
Dorothy E. Cusatis, 96, of Hazleton, passed away Monday at St. Luke Manor, Hazleton. Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Seliga) Rusnock.
During her working years, Dorothy was employed by the local garment factories in Hazleton. Dorothy was a dedicated member of the Ladies of the Sacred Heart for many years where she could be found rolling meatballs in the kitchen for church dinners and events. She was also a lifelong member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. Dorothy will be remembered as a strong, proud and hard-working woman, steadfast in prayer and her dedication to the church.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband Dominic “Pop” Cusatis in 2005; sons infant Adam and Dominic “Dickie” Cusatis; daughter-in-law Diane (Rogers) Cusatis; brothers John and Paul Rusnock; sisters Anna Pappaterra, Helen Schwick, and Marie Kokinda.
Surviving are her son David Cusatis and wife Jennifer, Mechanicsburg; grandchildren Dina Cusatis, and wife Angelita, Danielle Larned and husband Brian, Sarah Dudeck and husband Michael, David Paul Cusatis Jr.; great grandchildren John and Brian Larned, and Caden Cusatis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 A.M. in Our Lady of Peace Parish at Our Lady of Grace, Hazleton. Burial will be in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday morning in the church from 9-10 A.M.
