Robert H. Burns, 89, of Hazleton, passed away Saturday morning in his home.  Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Wilbur and Sylvia (Klinetop) Burns and was a member of Queen of Heaven Parish at Our Lady of Grace Church, Hazleton.

He was an Army Air Corps Veteran during World War II and was stationed in Okinawa with the occupying forces.  He was a retired truck driver for General Foam.  He was involved with the Hazleton Cougars Booster Club.  He was an avid football fan and loved watching his grandchildren play their sports.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wife the former Grace Serra in 2007; brothers Jim Burns and Wilbur Burns Jr.

Surviving are his son Robert Burns and his wife Roseann; daughter Sylvia Doria; grandchildren Robert Burns and his wife Shana, Ryan Burns and his wife Allison, Rachel Palumbo and her husband Christopher, James Doria and his wife Jennifer, Shawn Doria and his wife Yvonne, and Jennifer Doria and her fiancé Michael Cassarella; great grandchildren Robert, Daniella, Elena, and Ryan Burns Jr, Angelina, Isabella, and Gabriella Palumbo, Giana Cassarella, and Linea Doria; and cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 16th, at 9:30 A.M. in Queen of Heaven Parish at Our Lady of Grace Church.  Burial will be in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday morning, October 16th, at the church from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M.

The Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St., Hazleton, is in charge of the arrangements.  Memorial donations may be made to the Queen of Heaven Parish at Our Lady of Grace Church, 750 N. Vine St., Hazleton, PA  18201.
