Regina Caroline Brown

Regina Caroline Brown, 66, entered fully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 7, 2018.  There were two guiding principles in her life – love for Jesus and love for her daughters.  She adored her daughters and wanted her friends and family to know Jesus Christ as Lord.

She was born in Hazleton, Pennsylvania to parents William and Elizabeth (Yuhas) Tunnessen on March 3, 1952. Regina attended Hazleton State General Hospital School of Nursing and received a degree as a Registered Nurse. She worked for seven years as a nurse, including while she completed her Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology at Penn State Hazleton.

She worked in electrical engineering for the majority of her career and was employed by PPL Corporation in Allentown, Pennsylvania for 18 years, retiring as a Relay Technician  in September 2017. She attended the Worship Place in Georgetown, Texas and Bible Baptist Church in Shiremanstown, Pennsylvania.  She studied the Bible diligently and enjoyed playing guitar and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Patricia Layman.

Regina is survived by her daughters: Kristen Brown, of Indianapolis, Indiana, Kari Beets (Brown) and husband Josh of Dallas, Texas; sisters: Theresa Shigo and her husband John of McAdoo, Pennsylvania,  Mary Tunnessen and husband Harry Nunamacher of Sugarloaf, Pennsylvania,  Cynthia and husband Mark of Hazleton, Pennsylvania,  Lynda Georgantis and husband William of York, Pennsylvania; brother, William Tunnessen and wife Sandra of Drums, Pennsylvania; nieces and nephews and their families.

A service will be held at Grace Fellowship Church in Hazleton on Tuesday, May 15, at 11 A.M.  Flowers and cards can be sent to Grace Fellowship Church.  The Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St., Hazleton, is in charge of the local arrangements.
