Michael J. Bodner

Michael J. Bodner, 38, of Hazle Twp., passed away Thursday in West Hazleton.  Born in Hazleton, he was the son of his mother Marcia (Marchese) Gortva and her husband George and his father Steven R. Bodner Sr. and his wife Sandra.

He was self-employed as a master mason.

Preceding him in death, is his maternal grandmother Jean Eleanor Marchese; paternal grandparents John and Janice Bodner; uncle Gary Bodner; aunt Janice Bodner; and cousin Clint Reimold on July 22, 2018.

Surviving in addition to his parents, are his brothers Steven R. Bodner, Freeland, and Andrew Gortva, Hazle Twp; sisters Sheila Kalce and her husband Andrew, Sheppton, and Brenda Bodner, Weatherly; maternal grandfather Andrew A. Marchese Jr.; nieces and nephews Emily Bodner, Andrea Gortva, Nicholas Kalce, and Adriana Petrone; aunts and uncles Deborah Lesante (Samuel Sr.), Mary Jean Reimold, Joseph Marchese (Debbie), and Susan Demaro (Anthony); numerous cousins and friends; and his beloved dog Buster.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 15th, at 1 P.M. in Most Precious Blood Church, Hazleton.  Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

The Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St., Hazleton, is in charge of the arrangements.  Donations in Michael’s name may be made to Marcia Gortva, 5033 Old Airport Rd., Hazle Twp., PA 18202.
