John A. Sulkevich, 71, of Hazleton, passed away Wednesday at his home.  Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late John “Crash” and Carmella (Yanuzzi) Sulkevich.

John was a Navy Veteran during the Vietnam War.  He retired from Genova Corporation.  He was a car enthusiast.  John was very knowledgeable with electronics and everyone called him for advice.  He was an animal lover and had several dogs over the years.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, the former Carol Hower; sister Annette Scarcella and her companion James Resuta, Hazleton; brother Joseph Sulkevich and his wife Diana, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was a wonderful husband and brother and he will be dearly missed.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, October 14th, at 9 A.M. in the Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St., Hazleton.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 A.M. in Queen of Heaven Parish at Our Lady of Grace Church, Hazleton.  Burial will be in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 P.M.
