George H. Krissinger of Palm Harbor, Fla., died Thursday.

He was born Nov. 20, 1933, in Hazleton, the son of the late Henry G. Krissinger and Rose Schaefer Krissinger.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Douglas G.H. Krissinger, on Nov. 20, 2011.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ann M. Burke Krissinger; daughter-in-law, Rosanne Krissinger; and devoted Schaefer cousins.

George was a graduate of West Hazleton High School, Class of 1951, and attended Penn State University.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served in Korea and Japan.

George was a former member of the Valley Country Club, Sugarloaf Twp.; Dallas Country Club, Dallas; and the Countryside Country Club, Clearwater, Fla. He was active in Hazle Azalea Fellowship Masonic Lodge, Hazleton; Lehigh Consistory, Allentown; and Irem Temple Shrine, Dallas.

He served as president of the Hazleton Shrine Club, as did his son, 20 years later. He was also a member of Egypt Shrine, Tampa, Fla.

George served on the Highland Lakes Board of Directors of the Activity Council, and also the Highland Lakes Concert Club.

He was a member of Curlew United Methodist Church, Palm Harbor, Fla.

Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St., Hazleton, is in charge of arrangements. Internment will be in Hazleton at a later date.
