Donna Marie Barletta, 69, formerly of Hazleton Pa passed away Thursday September 7, 2017 at home on Shelter Island New York.  Born on May 15th, 1948 in Hazleton she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Mary (Lombargo) Sabia.     

She graduated from Hazleton High School in 1966 and was a professional hairstylist for many years in Hazleton and Columbia Maryland.  She was a creative and artistic spirit who loved life and family.   She was a dedicated daughter and niece as a caretaker to her mother Mary and Aunt Lucy Sabia.   She loved animals and cared for many pets throughout her life.  She was a talented artist enjoying painting and sculpture.   She was a devoted mother and grandmother.  She was a member of the Shelter Island Presbyterian Church and regularly attended services at Our Lady of the Isle Church as well.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents was her brother Angelo Sabia of Camp Hill, PA and nephew Mark Sabia of Winterpark, FL. 

Surviving are her daughter Renee Barletta and her husband John Yang, Brooklyn NY; grandchildren Jasper 14 and Francesca "Frankie" 11 Yang; her former husband, Anthony "Tootser" Barletta, Port Saint Lucie, FL, and many nieces and nephews.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 15th, at 10 A.M. in Queen of Heaven Parish at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Hazleton.  The family will receive friends on Friday morning in the church from 9-10 A.M.  Burial will be in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.
