David J. Ulshafer

David J. Ulshafer, 61, of Weston, passed away Thursday at the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.  Born in Hazleton, he was the son of Leona (Coslop) Ulshafer, Weston, and the late Archie Ulshafer and was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Weston.

He owned and operated Dave’s Concrete Breaking for 35 years, drove a school bus for the Hazleton Area School District, and was last employed as a maintenance mechanic for Bimbo Bakeries.

Surviving are his wife of 36 years, the former Monica DiSabella; son David J. Ulshafer Jr., Weston; daughter Dena Ulshafer DeLucca and her husband Christopher, Sugarloaf; brothers Archie Ulshafer II and his wife Verna, Reading, and Donald Ulshafer and his wife Wilhemina, Weston; sisters Karen Fiore and her husband Louis, Hazleton, Angie Romanick and her husband Paul, Lattimer, DeDe DiSabella and her husband Keith Dennis, Weston; and numerous nieces and nephews.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 24th, at 10 A.M. in Sacred Heart Church.  Those attending should go directly to the church Wednesday morning.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.  Friends may call at the Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St., Hazleton on Tuesday from 6-8 P.M.
