Beatrice Joan Lombardo~January 10, 2012 |

Beatrice Joan Lombardo,
72, formerly of Lattimer, passed away Tuesday at the Orwigsburg Center.
Born in Lakewood, NJ, she was the daughter of the late James S. and Lina
(Granel) Ramsey.
She was retired from the
Dial Corporation.
Preceding her in death,
in addition to her parents, were her husband William M. Lombardo in
2005; sisters Veronica Wydock, and Maryann Ludolph; brothers Fredrick,
John, James, and George Ramsey; and nephews Freddy and Ricky Ables.
Surviving are her
daughter Tara Plummer and her husband David, New Ringgold; son William
L. Lombardo, Lattimer; grandchildren Haley C. Lombardo, and David W.
Plummer; sisters Dolores Spontak, NJ, and Virginia Martin, VA; and
several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will
be held on Saturday at 2 P.M. in the Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229
W. 12th St., Hazleton. The Reverend M. Jane Hess will
officiate the services. Friends may call at the funeral home on
Saturday from 12-2 P.M. Burial will be held at the convenience of the
family. |

Leroy F. Joseph, 76, of Las Vegas, passed away December 13th
in Las Vegas. Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late George and
Angeline (Belletieri) Joseph Sr.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was his brother John
Joseph.
Surviving are his sisters Marie Joseph, Mildred Rostas, both of
Hazleton, and Joanne McKelvey, FL; brother George Joseph Jr. and his
wife Cora, Conyngham; 3 aunts; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private burial was held in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the
family. The Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St.,
Hazleton, is in charge of the arrangements. |

Rosella A. Gardecki~January 19, 2012 |

Rosella A. Gardecki, of
Conyngham, passed away Thursday at the Hazleton General Hospital. Born
in Mayfield, PA, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary
(Kantor) O’Buck and was an active member of Holy Trinity Russian
Orthodox Church, McAdoo where she enjoyed being a member of the choir.
Her infectious laugh and sparkling blue eyes were matched only her
beautiful voice.
Surviving her are her
beloved husband of 47 years, Joseph Gardecki; and their children Joseph
Gardecki, his wife Ramona and their daughter Emma , Acton, MA, Rosella
Gardecki, Columbus, OH and John Gardecki, Arlington, MA; her brother
John O’Buck and his wife Pat, Plains, MT.
Preceding her in death,
in addition to her parents, were her sister and brother-in-law Elizabeth
and Thomas Middlesworth of Harrisburg, PA.
She worked at PPL for
more than 20 years before retiring in 2004 to spend more time with her
family.
A Panikhida will be
celebrated on Sunday at 7 P.M. in the Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229
W. 12th St., Hazleton. The family will receive friends on
Monday morning from 9-11 A.M. in Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church,
223 S. Kennedy Drive, McAdoo, PA 18237, followed by a Requiem Service
at 11 A.M.
Memorial donations may
be made to the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church. |

Josephine Entiero~January 30, 2012 |

Josephine Entiero, 88,
of Hazleton, passed away Monday at the Hazleton General Hospital. Born
in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Dellazzaro)
Wensko and was a member of Annunciation Parish at St. Gabriel’s Church,
Hazleton.
She worked in the local
garment industry and was a member of the International Ladies Garment
Workers Union. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens and was a
former Vice President of the Slovak Club.
Preceding her in death,
in addition to her parents, were her husband Joseph Entiero in 1985; and
brothers Paul and Francis Wensko.
Surviving are her sons
Joseph and his wife Roseanne, Wilkes-Barre, Robert, Allentown, and
Frank, Danville; and nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held
on Wednesday at 9:30 A.M. from the Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W.
12th St., Hazleton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated at 10 A.M. in Annunciation Parish at St. Gabriel’s Church.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral
home on Wednesday morning from 8:30 A.M. until 9:30 A.M. |

Pasquale "Patsy" A. Sando~February 2, 2012 |

Pasquale
“Patsy” A. Sando, 83, of Hazleton, passed to eternal rest on Thursday
surrounded by his loving family at Lehigh Valley Hospital.
Born in Hazleton on May
27, 1928 to Frank and Matilda (Pecora) Sando, Patsy aka Winkie grew up
on the Alter St. area of Hazleton where, as a child, he shined shoes and
sang songs to the delight of many. As a young man he worked in the coal
mines of PA.
In 1948, he married
Martha Tokash of Freeland, and they raised 5 children, Ronald, Patricia,
Frank, Tamara, and the late Robert. They moved to Connecticut where Pat
worked for 23 years at Sikorsky Aircraft as a flight inspector. He won
many awards for his ideas and suggestions. After debilitating
arthritis, he moved back to Hazleton where he thrived as an elected
State Constable for 30 years and was known for his unique compassion for
people. He also served as a longtime committee man for the Democratic
Party.
A gifted singer, Pat
loved music and dancing. He sang at many occasions and passed this love
of music to his children.
Pat is survived by his 4
children; sisters Tillie Degilio, and Anna Mundie; sister-in-laws Mayme
Maylath, May Tokash, and Mary Sando; daughter-in-law Lori Sando; loving
grandchildren Lea and Joseph Gerbino, Matthew and Andrew Sando, and
Nicole and Ryan Mariano; great grandchildren T.J. Cibulish, and Joleen,
Alexis, and Zackary Gerbino; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death,
in addition to his wife, son, and parents, were sisters Dora Sando, Mary
Greshko, Betty Yevak, and Dana Cameron; brothers Joseph Sando and Frank
Sando Jr.
His funeral will be held
on Monday at 9 A.M. from the Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th
St., Hazleton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30
A.M. in Queen of Heaven Parish at Our Lady of Grace Church, Hazleton.
Burial will be in parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home
on Sunday from 3-6 P.M. |
